4k Yahoo Widget contest
Welcome to the official site for the Widget 4K contest!
The idea of this contest is a friendly challenge. You get to do what you love, build Widgets... but you're only allowed 16 kilobytes! This contest places no limits on the imagination, you can build any type of Widget you like. We expect to see the most wild ideas anyone has ever seen. Be creative, unique, use your imagination! In the end, the community gets to vote on your amazing creations. We want you to have fun, because anyone who can build a good Widget in less than 16KB is a winner!
We are very excited about this and hope that you are too. This website coordinates the whole contest, from uploading your Widget entry, browsing the gallery, to voting on your favorite Widget. Please see the table below for when events start or end.
If you need programming help or want advice, we can be reached on IRC at irc.freenode.net, channel ##konfabulator.
If you don't have an IRC client, you can connect through the web using Mibbit.com. But you will have a better experience using a real IRC client, like X-Chat for Windows or X-Chat Aqua for Mac OS X (both are free).
Contest Schedule:
- Developers get 4 weeks to develop and submit their idea.
- After that, everyone gets 2 weeks to vote on the Widgets.
